For meetings that are minuted from recorded audio, the following items greatly enhance the accuracy of minutes created:
- good quality audio with minimal levels of background noise, over-speaking etc.;
an agenda which includes date, time, venue and attendees; - clear direction from the meeting Chair recognising and naming individual speakers;
- a broad “running list” indicating the initials of who is speaking at what time; and copies of any reports and/or presentations that were referred to in the meeting;
- confirmation of any motions moved and any actions to be noted.
